— Connections 2019 Winter

am so excited to be joining CHC as the new Administrative Coordinator. I have been working actively with Bridget, Charlie, and Nancy to ease the transition as I attempt to fill Bridget's un-fillable shoes.

As with most mountain obsessed Massachusetts natives, I have always wanted to live in Vermont. That obsession was only exacerbated by my experience at Grinnell College, surrounded by corn and soy in the flatlands of Iowa. After college, I traversed the U.S. as a seasonal biologist and outdoor educator, doing everything from coral reef ecology research in Florida to running field programming for middle schoolers in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Through all my adventures, I regularly found reasons to spend time in Vermont, working as a camp counselor at Farm & Wilderness Camps in Plymouth, VT for multiple summers.

In 2017, I relocated to Vermont on a more permanent basis, to serve as an AmeriCorps member with the Vermont Center for Ecostudies. I worked with citizen scientists like many of you, to monitor vernal pools across the state. It was through this experience that I gained a deep appreciation for the love Vermonters have for their state and for the natural world. I am excited to stay in Vermont and continue working, now with all of you at CHC, to conserve Vermont's forested landscape. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you in the coming months. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or feedback you might have.
