— Connections CHC Staff 2020 Fall

I am thrilled to be joining Cold Hollow to Canada as Program Director and look forward to meeting each of you soon.

A little bit about me: I grew up playing in the blue and green landscape of the Pacific Northwest and my time outside sparked in me a desire to ensure that similarly precious landscapes would remain forever vibrant.

After exploring other cultures and landscapes around the world for a year between high school and college, I landed in Vermont to attend Middlebury College. Beyond my neuroscience studies, I fell in love with the area’s communities and working landscape, and have been immersed in the working lands space ever since.

After college, I was eager to stay in the Champlain Valley and became the Food Service Director at Cornwall School where I cooked and served healthy meals made with ingredients grown and raised by local producers to 70 students and staff daily. I then moved to New York where I was most recently Deputy Chief of Staff at Stone Barns Center, a nonprofit organization working towards a more sustainable U.S. food system. During my nearly four years at Stone Barns, I took a deep dive into nonprofit strategy and managed a business coaching retreat that supports farm leaders in developing enterprises that are both economically and environmentally sustainable.

Now, I am overjoyed to be back in Vermont for the long-term and have the opportunity to support you all in conserving and stewarding precious forestland in the northwest corner of the state. As Program Director, my core work includes partner and community outreach, fundraising, strategy development, and management of the conservation fund.

I look forward to hearing from you! You can reach me by email lauren@ coldhollowtocanada.org or phone 802-472-1448.
