We Walk Together: Reflecting on the Summer Social
On a cloudy, windy afternoon in July, Cold Hollow to Canada staff, board members, friends, family, and our greater community gathered in Montgomery to celebrate our forests (and Vermont summer!). The thunderstorms held off and we stayed dry and blessedly cool as we enjoyed tacos, ice cream, drinks, live music, and great company.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this year's Summer Social! This year's turnout was a record high, continuing the event's growth since last year. We were joined by a great combination of old faces and new community members from Montgomery and the surrounding area. We loved catching up with old friends, and got a chance to introduce CHC to some new folks who hadn't yet connected with our work. We hope to keep growing this tradition for years to come.

The evening featured live music from the Ben Farney Band, tacos from Caja Madera, ice cream from Ben & Jerry's, and local beer from Mill River Brewing; many thanks to this lineup for making the evening fun and memorable!
We were also glad to welcome our friends from the Montgomery Conservation Commission, Tracking Connection, and the Missisquoi River Basin Association, who shared their work and connected with attendees during the event.
Throughout the night, guests had the chance to share their favorite thing about our forests; here are some of our favorite photos of your smiling faces.
None of this would have been possible without the generosity of our local business sponsors. A huge thank you to Barred Woods Maple Products, Cedar Ledge Builders, Jensen Tree Care, Hi Vue Maples, Barnard & Gervais, The Belfry,Branon Family Maple Orchards, Champlain Chevrolet,Hull Insurance Agency, The Jay Cloud Cyclery, and Cafe Oma for their financial support, and to Ben & Jerry's and Mill River Brewing for their in-kind donations.
The Summer Social was all about celebrating and connecting, but we were left with a powerful sense of the strength of this community and our shared commitment to the land. Thanks to those who joined us, and we’re already looking forward to next summer!
