Are you looking to do MORE to help CHC succeed in our mission and planning?

CHC is on a roll; and we hope to keep on reaching new milestones and successes with your help. Our local supporters, YOU, have stood by us for years now and we are so grateful. But we still have a significant task ahead of us to reach our goal of conserving 23,000 acres by 2030. Your annual donations, attendance at our events, and moral support are invaluable; but if you are interested and able to contribute in other ways, consider some of the new strategical options described below.

Become a sustaining donor…

We'll start out financially, because fiscal contributions are a primary means of showing your support without asking for your time. Let's talk about becoming a sustaining donor.
Even your smallest donations of $5 or $10, make a big difference. Contributing to the CHC General Fund in any amount supports funding of our staff, event planning and supplies, mailings and promotion, merchandise, subscription fees, and more. The operational expenses that come with running a non-profit of this scale are supported by YOU so that we can accomplish the conservation goals that are supported by State and Federal Grants. Every donation also is a signifier for those Grant committees that we have support, that there is a significant member base in this region and beyond who believes in what we are striving to achieve. Whether you are a regular annual donor or a first time contributor, we ask you to consider moving your giving to a monthly donation, and become a sustaining donor. Documented statistical analysis shows that sustaining donations have a 42% advantage in longer term and more substantial funding intitiatives than one time donations. "I moved to this method a couple years back and it is so easy. I can plan my giving and know that my donations are going to help what I care about." --Nancy Patch, co-founder of CHC.

BECOME A SUSTAINING DONOR

Don't be mistaken, if you are not in a position to become a sustaining donor, we remain always grateful for whatever amount you may be able to donate, whenever is suitable to you. And if monetary donations are not reasonable for you at this time, read on for other ways to show your support...

Become a volunteer…

There are lots of ways that CHC can use your help beyond the bank. Consider adding your name to our Volunteer Contributor List so that we might call on you for occasions when we need more feet on the ground or circumstantial support. This need often is associated with events such as our Summer Social and Annual Gathering, where helping hands ease some of the responsiblities tied to hosting large gatherings. Maybe you scoop ice cream, maybe you man a booth that shares knowledge and information about CHC, maybe you are just on-call to make a run to the store for an extra case of seltzers when we run out...there are many ways to be present at our events and be a big help to our staff and team so that things can run smoothly.

Not so into the social element or are out of town and can't physically be present to help? Then perhaps you have a professional service you could offer in-kind? Or you want to pay for a run of CHC stickers or CHC t-shirts? Maybe you want to post flyers for us in area towns that we don't get to as often to help spread the word?

More interested in the field work side of CHC? Perhaps you have a piece of property that you can offer for a CHC birding walk or wetland exploration or even an intimate CHC member potluck to discuss action items in your town? Even if you don't own land, perhaps you are interested in supporting the data tracking that informs our Citizen Science program and would like to learn about ways to contribute to that bank of information?

Having a database of willing volunteers who are open to the call, gives us a boost.
We hope you will consider adding your name to our list.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER

We are currently at 38% of our ultimate goal to conserve 23,000 acres by 2030 in the CHC region. We also have a number of projects in progress that could bring us up to over 60% of our goal in the foreseeable future. We are working on updating our Strategic Plan, which includes developing a more sophisticated fundraising plan to rebuild our Conservation Fund.

Our work is critical and urgent. Keeping our forests connected and resilient to climate change takes all our efforts and we need YOU to help us make it happen.
