Winter Wildlife Tracking Learning Series

Cold Hollow to Canada is excited to announce an upcoming wildlife tracking learning series to explore animal movement, behavior, and habitat use through online and in-person experiences. Sessions can be attended individually or as part of the full series. This opportunity is supported by a grant from the Vermont Community Foundation in collaboration with CHC's partners from around the state including Merck Forest & Farmland Center, NorthWoods Stewardship Center, Vermont Coverts, and Vermont Woodlands Association. Webinar 1: Winter Track & Trail Identification

Learn how to read tracks and trails in winter snow and mud to better understand which animals are using your woods and how they move across the landscape. This introductory session covers common track patterns, species clues, and tips for observing wildlife sign during the winter months.

Wildlife Track & Sign Workshop (In-Person)

Join Wildlife Track & Sign Specialist and CHC's Community Science Coordinator Sophie Mazowita (Tracking Connection) for a 3-hour excursion at the Krusch Nature Preserve. Intended for beginner and intermediate wildlife trackers, we will discuss track and trail identification and explore the behavior of any wildlife trails we find. 

Webinar 2: Trail Camera Tips for Documenting Wildlife and Monitoring Habitat
