It’s still winter, but spring is just around the corner! It’s time to place your orders for the Franklin County Conservation District’s spring sales. Their primary goal is to make native trees and backyard fruit trees affordable and accessible in our community, and it is also a fundraiser for their conservation programs and education. This year they’re piloting some new additions: hops rhizomes and mushroom spawn! They also have new native trees and shrubs, new heirloom apple varieties, and a sour cherry tree. Buttonbush and Aronia are discounted to $5 for their pollinator benefits. Availability is limited and prices rise after February 28th, so place your order early! Visit their Tree Sale web page or stop by their office at 50 South Main Street, St. Albans to learn about how you can volunteer, get a discount, buy in bulk – and place your order!
