Posted Thursday, August 1, 2019

EVENT DETAILS

Wednesday, August 7th, 6:30 pm to 8 pm

Location: Richford Emergency Services Building

Tom Seeley, Professor of Biology at Cornell University, and author of many books and articles on bees, will be giving a talk titled “Following the Wild Bees:  The Old-Time Craft of Bee Hunting”. The program, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, 7 August at the Richford Fire Station, will provide time for general questions after the talk.

For those interested, Tom will be demonstrating bee hunting (bee-lining) the following day starting at 10 am, weather permitting. He will be setting up his “bee box” in the old Morse hay field at 510 Stevens Mills Slide Road, Richford.  Tom can answer questions about bees that anyone may have while waiting patiently for the bees to arrive. Follow the long driveway, at the 510 address marker, up to the field. If you need further information about the Thursday event, call Dan Seeley at 848-7851. This event is sponsored by the Richford Conservation Commission. The event is free and open to the public, but donations are welcome.
